We can't wait to celebrate with you this summer! When we first discussed getting married, we agreed on one thing immediately: We wanted to plan a wedding that allowed us enough time to be truly present with each other and our loved ones. We know how fast time slips between all our fingers and feel so unbelievably lucky that we've found each other. Our top priority is that we have the time and space to pause, stay present, and celebrate with all our favorite people. That's why we landed on hosting a weekend-long wedding celebration at our beautiful venue, IslandWood. We hope to give you an unforgettable and special experience filled with great food, laughter, games, drinks, impeccable music, more food, and the best feature of all - a wonderful group of people. All events for the weekend will remain onsite at IslandWood and all guests are invited (and heavily encouraged) to stay onsite in one of their beautiful lodges Friday - Sunday. We hope that every single guest can stay onsite with us so we can curate a unique and special camp-like experience. Let's escape the world and have a blast together! Our Wedding

Disclaimer: This is a gushy and self-congratulatory run-through of our relationship. This is a wedding after all and boy oh boy do we love each other

We first met on the dating app Hinge. Tom had described his ideal woman as "good with kids, 6'6", covered in yellow feathers, and living on Sesame street". Alita, despite being only 1/4 of these criteria, was obviously cute, funny, quirky, and, after getting some advice to just get back into the dating scene, miraculously decided that this could be the guy for her. After much discussion of this Big Bird aesthetic and other key relationship success predictors, Tom asked Alita out and Alita suggested the first date be at Mox Boarding House, a board game bar. The date was set for January 5th, 2022 and it was only made clear later that, given that neither of us were big board gamers, this was because Alita figured it would be nice to have an activity if Tom was an awful conversationalist. Fortunately, the chemistry was there as soon as we had sized each other up and the board games became a complete afterthought. Our next date was a few days later and really where the two of us fell in love (though of course it wouldn't be called that yet because that would be weird). After a tour through Seattle's Capitol Hill cafes, restaurants, bars we were certifiably smitten and it's obvious in retrospect that our trajectories through life merged that day. Dates became more and more frequent and the 45min drive to each other's place was committed to memory.

1) UnHinged

The first months of dating each other were endlessly exciting. We had dinner dates, we met each others friends, skied, we did taco nights and movie nights, we ate lots of takeout, we listened to records, we DDd each other from the bars, and Alitas dog Ziggy was thrilled to have another lap too small for him to sit in. About one month in, we went to Orcas Island (another island in the Puget Sound) for a Valentines Day trip and had the weekend of a lifetime. We got a tiny Airbnb with an amazing hot tub right on the bluff of a cliff and that paired, with a bottle (or two (or five)) of wine was about 75% of our activity for that weekend. Orcas Island remains a very special place to us, somewhere we fantasize about living, and somewhere you should definitely visit if you get a chance. We left that weekend telling each other in love (now vocally) and it has been a great vignette that describes us and our dynamic. We dont have a hot tub to shrivel our fingers in, but we have been the last ones in a closing restaurant more times than we can count gabbing about our workdays, our life plan, our philosophy on life, our dogs, the ideal methods to dunk an Oreo in milk (Alita is civilized, Tom maximizes dunkage at the expense of making a mess), and everything in between.

2) Staying in Hot Tubs for Way Too Long

Despite the gratuitous professing our love for each other, our relationship was evolving and so were our challenges. Tom moved into Alita's place in the beginning of 2023 and shit was officially serious. A daunting new trial emerged: our couch sucked and needed to be replaced. A couch defines the vibe of a living space, but what was our vibe? Do we prioritize aesthetics or functionality? What's our budget? What's the dog policy on this couch? What's our stance on throw pillows? (Please don't bring this one up it's a touchy subject.) How much do we even care about this? Before living together, these trades felt hypothetical and mundane. Now however, we needed answers. We ended up with a killer green couch that we both love and a larger appreciation for what it means to operate in partnership with someone. We worked on our communication muscles and continued to bite off more higher stakes decisions. The next big we're-in-this-thing-together milestone was getting our puppy, Juno. We weren't getting as much sleep. We were slipping on some work responsibilities. We had complicated every activity in our life as simple as going out to dinner. But all of this was a huge gift to our relationship in that it forced us to see each other in a new light, it required us to flex those communication muscles we'd been training, it gave us the chance to dip our toes into parenting, and we got the best dog ever out of it (tied with our other dog Ziggy of course). Nowadays, a huge amount of our free time centers around our dogs and we have a never-ending amount of photos of them doing goofy things to share with friends who didn't ask to see them. We also bought a townhouse in the summer of 2024 in Fremont (a neighborhood of Seattle). It might go without saying but this was a big, demonstrated commitment for the two of us. We know you're supposed to share your vows before you share a mortgager but screw it we love our neighborhood and are very fortunate to be in this position. If you ever want to crash, we've got a pull-out bed with your name on it (it's still a townhouse after all).

You will receive a Wedding Welcome packet when you check-in at IslandWood on Friday, July 11th. It will outline event details, FAQs, and everything you need to know for the weekend ahead. If you'd like a sneak peek into what's in store, read on below: Friday, July 11thThe Night BeforeAll guests are invited to stay onsite with us at IslandWood. Check-in begins at 5 PM on Friday. Guests are welcome to arrive at IslandWood prior to 5 PM to drop-off their bags, walk around the campus to get familiar, and enjoy some lawn games. Rooms won't be available until 5 PM. After check-in, there will be welcome dinner in the dining hall and campfire night at IslandWood's outdoor amphitheater. Saturday, July 12thThe Wedding DayThe morning of July 12th, breakfast and lunch will both be served in the dining hall. Both meals are included for IslandWood guests. Between breakfast and lunch, there will be opt-in activities you can sign up for including yoga and nature hikes. Activity sign-ups will occur at check-in on Friday. In the mid-afternoon, there will be lawn games and free time. The ceremony will begin at 4 PM, followed by a reception, dinner and dancing. Sunday, July 13thA Morning FarewellSay farewell over a continental breakfast at IslandWood's dining lodge! There will be coffee, tea, fruit and pastries provided starting at 6:30 AM if you're an early riser. The rest of the food will be available at 8 AM, with checkout required no later than 11 am at the Welcome Center.

Weekend Itinerary

Islandwood - Bainbridge Island

Good news! You now have two options for getting to our wedding in Tulum. The <a href="https://www.travelandleisure.com/you-can-now-fly-to-tulum-from-these-u-s-airports-8624266" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tulum International Airport just opened up</a>, making travel to &amp; from the region much easier. There is of course the option of flying into Cancun and making the 1 hour and 50 minute drive to Tulum. We will leave the flying decisions up to the individual guests, but we want to be as transparent as possible about the pros/cons of each option. There are reasons why flying into Cancun may be preferable for people - there are more flights, more airlines, more of those flights are nonstop, resulting in approximately the same total travel time from most destinations. That being said, the Tulum International Airport offers multiple flights each day - most connecting through Dallas.Right now, American and United Airlines are flying into the Tulum International Airport. More flights and airlines are expected to start flying into Tulum throughout the rest of 2024 + beyond. You're free to wait to see what additional flights are added on throughout the year, but we encourage you to book your flights no later than September 2024 to ensure you have a better chance at securing seats - especially if you're planning on flying to Tulum. Since it's a new airport, there are only a handful of flights flying into Tulum each day. We expect that they will fill up quickly. Our venue, Casa Violeta, is a 50-minute drive from the Tulum airport. Some people will choose to fly into Cancun due to their own vacation plans and/or the availability of many more flights. The drive from Cancun to Casa Violeta is an hour and 50 minutes. Guests will be responsible for their transportation to/from the airport of their choosing.

Hotel Options

All wedding festivities will be hosted at Casa Violeta. Only the wedding party &amp; immediate family will be staying onsite at Casa Violeta; if you're staying at Casa Violeta, you will be notified directly and given instructions on how to book. Casa Violeta is our wedding venue for the entire weekend of festivities. While all our guests are welcome to visit throughout the weekend for our official wedding events, Casa Violeta is a boutique hotel that hosts up to ~40 people overnight, so the only people staying onsite will be our immediate family and wedding party. You have been notified if you're going to be staying at Casa Violeta. Those staying here will be assigned specific rooms with instructions on how to book directly with the hotel.

Getting to Seattle

If you're coming from out of town, you'll likely fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Seatac is a large international airport with rental car options and everything else you'd expect. If you're flying in from California keep you eyes peeled for great views of Crater Lake in Oregon and Mt. Rainier right before you get into Seattle

Getting from Seattle to Bainbridge Island

Bainbridge Ferry - Our Suggestion

The simplest way to get to the venue would be to use Seattle's excellent ferry system. There is a ferry terminal right in downtown Seattle that you can drive or walk on. From there, it's a 35 minute scenic ride through the Puget Sound to the Bainbridge Ferry terminal. Once at the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal, it's a 10-15 minute drive to the venue. The ferry schedule can be seen <a href="https://wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/scheduledetail.aspx?departingterm=7&amp;arrivingterm=3&amp;roundtrip=true" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a> and there's departures every 40-50min. Tickets can be purchased <a href="https://wave2go.wsdot.com/webstore/shop/viewItems.aspx?cg=21&amp;c=20" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a> up to 90 days in advance. This means you can get a ticket on April 13th if you plan to ferry over on Friday, July 11th. The ferry is a first come first serve system, so you'll either buy a ticket when you get there or before and then queue with other cars until you're ushered to drive onto the ferry. Once on you can leave your car and get a great view of Seattle and the islands of the Puget Sound. You'll then drive off of the ferry in Bainbridge and head over to the venue. Tom &amp; Alita have seen orcas breaching on one of these ferries so keep your eyes peeled!

Driving Around The Sound

If you don't want to get on a boat or if you're a big fan of civil engineering history, you can drive around the sounds and across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (AKA <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XggxeuFDaDU" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Gallopin' Gertie</a>). This is a scenic ~2hr drive from the airport through Tacoma and will take you through many of the small towns on the islands of the Puget Sound.

Don't Have a Car (Rental or Otherwise)?

If you aren't driving or don't have a rental car, you will be able to take the light rail from SeaTac airport to the ferry terminal in downtown Seattle. From there you can walk onto the ferry, take it across the sound, and then find a ride from the ferry terminal in Bainbridge to Islandwood. Bainbridge doesn't have a ton of Uber or Lyft drivers. There are some, but it's a bit unreliable. The best option for getting to IslandWood on Friday is using one of the below local Bainbridge services: 1. <a href="https://www.kitsaptransit.com/service/routed-buses/bi-ride" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">BI RIDE run by Kitsap Transit</a> is a $2 shuttle service that runs all over the island but it doesn't run on Sundays2. Karen Noury (206-549-1934) is a local driver and is very responsive3. Car Service on Bainbridge (206-746-8061)4. Taxis &amp; Tours (206-842-7660) The best option for getting from IslandWood back to the ferry terminal on Sunday is either: One of the above options or Signing up during Friday's checkin to carpool to the ferry terminal with one of the guests who has extra room in their car. 50% of our guests are either local or will have a car. For those with extra room, we are asking that they take other guests back to the ferry terminal on Sunday. You will be able to sign up for carpool spots when you check-in on Friday. Once you get back to Seattle on the ferry, there will be tons of available Ubers &amp; Lyfts to take you to your next destination.

What should I wear throughout the weekend?

There will be lots of gatherings throughout the weekend. Please wear whatever makes you comfortable and happy throughout the weekend. Below are some suggestions for the various events: We just ask that for the ceremony and reception on Saturday afternoon/evening, you have fun and dress up.

Weekend Attire

Book your room at IslandWood by March 31st

All wedding festivities and lodging for all guests will be held at IslandWood. You can <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/campbell-mannell-wedding-weekend-july-11th-13th-2025-registration-1144363715679?aff=oddtdtcreator" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">register and pay for your lodging at this link.</a> Please read details on how IslandWood lodging works below prior to booking so you can make the right reservation. How to book:IslandWood has various room sizes. There are a combination of single occupancy, double occupancy and bunk rooms that can accommodate up to 6 guests. You will be assigned a specific room upon arrival but need to book for your desired headcount in advance. If you book a room for 4+ people, please note that you are likely to be in a room with a bunk bed setup. If friends or family members want to room together, please discuss amongst yourselves ahead of time and follow the below instructions accordingly. Single/Double Occupancy: If you plan to room alone or with just one other guest, book the "Wedding Stay for One Room" ticket. See screenshot below for what to select before checking out.

3 - 6 people occupancy: If you plan to have 3 or more people in your room, book the "Wedding Stay for One Room" ticket plus and "Add on" ticket for every additional person beyond the two included guests. See screenshot below for example of what to book if you have 3 adults rooming together.

Please note: Children ages 3-12 have a slightly lower add-on rate. Children under the age of 3 are free. See screenshot below for an example of what to book if you have 2 adults and one child 3-12 years old in one room.

Nightly rates include a continental breakfast. Saturday lunch and Sunday brunch will be provided free of charge for all guests that stay onsite at IslandWood; Friday and Saturday dinner will be provided for all guests regardless if they stay at IslandWood. Beds are made based on the confirmed occupancy per room. Daily guest room/housekeeper service is not provided. No sales or hotel tax is applied to guest room lodging. The booking link requires paying through PayPal. If you don't have an account, you can check out as a guest to make one when booking a room. Accommodations

What should I expect to spend?

We anticipate the average individual cost will land between $500-1,000 for the weekend. We will be providing food and beverage for the weekend once you check-in at IslandWood. Guests will be responsible for: Their own transportation, IslandWood lodging costs, and any additional travel expenses you choose to incur. The total will depend on whether or not you need to book a flight, how early you do so, and what room size/occupant total you opt into at IslandWood. We highly recommend you book your IslandWood room and flights by March 31st when you RSVP. After that, make sure to have a game plan for transportation from Seattle to IslandWood. How can I save money?

There are ways to mitigate cost like: booking flights early, sharing a larger IslandWood room with more than 2 occupants, coordinating driving transportation with other guests to split cost, etc. We've done a lot of research ahead of time to help alleviate some of the upfront number crunching and we plan to give you an incredible unforgettable weekend. That being said, we completely understand if this isn't within everyone's budget.&nbsp;

Are you hoping to explore the Pacific Northwest before or after our wedding? Here's some of our suggestions on things to do:

Enjoy Seattle

Parts of Town - Seattle is a beautiful, lush city with great views and tons to do. Our favorite parts of town to take visitors are Fremont (where we live), Ballard, Capitol Hill, and Downtown Seattle. As a first time visitor you're legally obligated to go to Pike Place market but it's well worth it and popular amongst locals and tourists alike. Alita got to catch a fish last time we were there (photo evidence below) Parks - the best parks to visit will be Green Lake (our favorite and where Tom proposed), Gas Works (where you can get the best view of the city), and Discovery Park (if you're craving a little bit more of a hike). Get on the Water - Seattle touches the Puget Sound, Lake Union, and Lake Washington. You can rent a boat. Our suggestion is via <a href="https://www.boatsetter.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">boatsetter</a> so you can get a speedboat, if that's too intense there's also <a href="https://www.theelectricboatco.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">electric boat rentals</a> or even <a href="https://hottubboats.com/seattle/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">hot tub boats</a>. Eat &amp; Drink - If you want to try some local eats, you'll have to make sure to eat some form of Salmon. If you want seafood and a view, we suggest <a href="https://www.rays.com/boathouse/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ray's Boathouse</a> or <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ivar&#39;s+Salmon+House/@47.6534582,-122.3237017,18.37z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x5490158534a4e5bb:0x1c04a2a6b52f8346!8m2!3d47.6536298!4d-122.3240398!16s%2Fg%2F11j2vnjtwc?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDIyNS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ivar's on Lake Union</a> (which you can actually pull a boat up to for lunch if you so desire). If you want to try Oprah's and Tom's favorite fried chicken, stop at Ezell's. If you want to do how the locals do, you should try any of the countless Thai restaurants. Seattle has a deep bench when it comes to cafe's and breweries. The brewery scene is centered in the Ballard area but they're all over town. Our favorites are Ravenna Brewing and Fremont Brew.
